A part of the ocean, which is five times the size of Australia, is much warmer than most of the surrounding water. It is shocking, considering its size.

According to The Guardian, “WMO scientists said the record heat – on land and in the ocean – was mostly driven by the climate crisis and coincided with a string of extreme weather events, from deadly landslides in the Philippines to floods in Australia and rapid glacier loss in Indonesia.”
 
This is among the most widespread climate changes from normal circumstances anywhere in the world.
