Kristi Noem Claims Democrats ‘Standing Alongside Known Terrorists,’ Backs DOJ Probe Into AOC Webinar

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem gave her backing to the idea that the Justice Department investigate Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for hosting a February “Know Your Rights” webinar aimed at informing immigrants about how to deal with ICE encounters.
At the time, President Donald Trump’s border czar Tom Homan claimed the progressive congresswoman may have crossed legal lines in the session as he leads the administration’s mass deportation efforts.
“Maybe AOC is going to be in trouble now,” Homan said in February, adding she was potentially “trying to teach them how to evade law enforcement.”
Ocasio-Cortez clapped back on Friday at a town hall, arguing that she was using her “free speech rights in order to advise people of their constitutional protections.” In direct response to Homan, she added: “Come for me, do I look like I care?”
During an interview on Fox News with host Sean Hannity, Noem was asked about the webinar.
“Is this aiding and abetting in your view?” the host asked.
Noem agreed that the webinar should be investigated and accused Democrats of “standing alongside known terrorists” in providing help to immigrants who may be subject to Trump’s deportation policies:
