Cadillac kills off giant gas-guzzler as General Motors makes way for EVs
Story by Ben Shimkus, Consumer Reporter For Dailymail.Com • 8h

General Motors confirmed it will end production of the XT6, a three-row gas-powered crossover, later this year.

The phase-out will allow Cadillac to rejig its Spring Hill, Tennessee, plant away from the underperforming SUV and advance the company's giant pivot toward an electric lineup.

The XT6, which debuted in 2019 as Cadillac's answer to the upscale family hauler, never quite found its footing.

With a $50,000-plus starting price tag, shoppers turned to mechanically similar and cheaper GM three-row models like the GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave, and Chevy Traverse.

The people who buy Cadillacs, generally speaking, aren't overly concerned about the price.  As long as enough trinkets and gadgets are on them that you don't get from regular cars, they'll pay the price for EVs.
