(NewsNation) — Tech billionaire Elon Musk is claiming that Social Security numbers were handed out last year to more than 2 million immigrants who entered the United States illegally and that those cards were subsequently used to collect benefits to which they were not entitled.

Musk, speaking at a weekend town hall meeting in Wisconsin, displayed data from a Social Security program called Enumeration Beyond Entry, which indicated that nearly 2.1 million immigrants were given Social Security numbers in fiscal year 2024 alone.

That figure was a sharp increase from the 590,000 noncitizens who received Social Security numbers in fiscal year 2022 and the 964,000 who received them in 2023, EBE data showed. The Trump administration estimates that 11 million immigrants who crossed the border illegally are currently living in the U.S.
 
Pew Research reported last year that about 8.3 million workers who held jobs in the nation in 2022 were immigrants.

This is maybe the craziest part of this whole debacle.  Dim's cry about social security, but while on their watch they are diluting by illegally allowing 2M benefits for life, if they can squeeze in their 40 quarters.  This is among the biggest scandal of all uncovered by DOGE.  And it is going to cost every "real" pensioner thousands or 10's of thousands of $ during their retirement.

And I am sure revocation is going to be hell in the court room. In fact, since this government issued, can it be revoked?

My first thoughts too, then I realize there is a faction of our judicial who wants to ship terrorist back from El Salvador.   This could shape up into 2M individual court cases, funded by Soros, et. al. Imagine the time and resources for that?

What it takes. The law should prevail over activism, and once established, solid precedent based on the law should win out. Some states have laws that forbid profiting from a crime (we do in ND). We should have the same (and make such ill gotten gains forfeit, with due process) at the Federal Level.

Begs the question:
Can a Social Security number, once issued, be revoked...?

EDIT: this is something that may have to be decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.
