Vance Slams Pro-Ukraine Protesters for Chasing Him and His 3-Year-Old Daughter

Vice President JD Vance criticized pro-Ukrainian protesters who had followed him and his three-year-old daughter around, noting that his daughter “grew increasingly anxious.”

In a post on X, Vance explained that he “decided to speak with the protesters in the hopes” that they would leave his daughter alone, adding that they agreed.

“Today while walking my 3 year old daughter a group of ‘Slava Ukraini’ protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared,” Vance wrote. “I decided to speak with the protesters in the hopes that I could trade a few minutes of conversation for them leaving my toddler alone.”

Vance added that while it was a “mostly respectful conversation,” if protesters are “chasing a 3-year-old as part of a political protest” they are a “s**t person.”

His SS detail should have stepped up and dispersed them with prejudice.

Where was his security detail and why didn't they intervene?  The protesters shouldn't have gotten close enough for his daughter to be afraid, and him deciding to talk to them perhaps wasn't the wisest decision.

Perhaps it wasn't, but it would be a real low life who doesn't care about scaring a child. Bad optics for anyone. His engaging with them in a respectful and calm manner disarms the situation insofar as the people pursuing him would allow. The security detail should have been all over it, though.

Ah yes, the superb Secret Service.  These details are pathetic.  The leadership of the Secret Service needs replaced with competent leaders.  Their rank and file are not doing their job.

Agreed.

This is concerning.  He's our VP and with Trump's age, his safety is even more of a concern.  Secret Service should have never, ever let people get that close to Vance and his daughter.  Never!
