Democrats Stall Senate Bill to Protect Women’s Sports

Paul Bois 3 Mar 2025

A U.S. Senate bill to prevent men from participating in women’s sports failed to overcome the 60-vote threshold needed to pass the filibuster on Monday night.

The bill came down to a strict 51-45 vote along party lines, with Democrat Sens. Elissa Slotkin (MI) and Peter Welch (VT) abstaining. Per Fox News:

The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act would require Title IX to treat gender as “recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth,” and would disallow any adjustment for it to apply to gender identity.

The bill was introduced by Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-AL, and has over 40 cosponsors in the Senate. It would also codify one of Trump’s many recent executive orders, giving the policy better longevity.

As Breitbart News reported last month, the president signed an executive order to “re-write federal Title IX education rules to withhold federal funds from schools that allow transgender athletes to play as females.”

“Another aspect of the order would charge the Department of Homeland Security with the task of denying visas to foreign trans athletes who want to enter the U.S. to compete among women,” it added.

Activist Riley Gaines called out the Senators who opposed the bill on Monday and publicly asked Sen. Slotkin if she supports men participating in women’s sports.

“It’s not just federally elected Democrats who hate women. It’s proving to be virtually ALL elected Democrats at ALL levels. Here’s proof from tonight’s vote in Minnesota, where all 66 House Dems voted NO on the Preserving Girls Sports Act,” she wrote on X.

Giant male in a MA school injured 3 girls during a girls basketball match. They ended the game early before he can hurt more girls and had to forfeit the game due to injuries.

Every single Democrat Senator just voted against keeping men out of women’s sports. ...

Tennis legend Martina Navratilova had a fiery reaction on Monday night after no Senate Democrat voted in favor of the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act to break the filibuster.

The bill, led by Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., failed to receive the 60 votes it needed to get through the procedural vote. Republicans needed 60 votes but only received 51. No Democrats sided with Republicans on the bill. Two Democrats were absent from the vote, as were two Republicans. The bill failed, 51-45.

When you lose the lesbian faction of the party you really are stuck on stupid.
You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.

It's one thing to stomp your foot and shake your fist, but if this is really an issue she cares about, she needs to start supporting Republicans.

Dozens of Democratic congresswomen are planning to wear pink to President Donald Trump’s Joint Address to Congress on Tuesday night as part of a coordinated protest against the President’s policies.

New Mexico Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández, who chairs the Democratic Women’s Caucus, confirmed exclusively to TIME on Monday that the pink attire is meant to“signal our protest of Trump's policies which are negatively impacting women and families.”

“Pink is a color of power and protest,” she says in an interview. “It’s time to rev up the opposition and come at Trump loud and clear.”

A famous American (Rush Limbaugh) often said that he would never be satisfied until the only democrats around were in specimen jars to which I say  :amen:
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

I guess I missed their protest when Brandon shutdown Keystone and its negative affect on women and families, I guess it’s only important to them when it affects those eating out of the government trough.

I cannot help but wonder, will all these democrat women dressed up in pink be bringing their 😿 hats too?
