Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Bad argument.  This KGB agent is in charge because we intervened in World War II.
The KGB agent is in charge because after WWII Americans were tired of war  so Patton wasn’t allowed to take on Russia.  :2popcorn:

Little doubt Patton was killed before the idea caught on...

Yep, when I lived in the UK it was during the Falklands war.

The news broadcast the videos of all those shiny ships going out to sea and fight the war, with all the British navy looking spit and polished on decks in the sun.

After all those months at sea and fighting a war, the news showed those ships coming back into the harbor, all rusted out, with the sailors looking grim and tired.

Made a big impression on me that shiny ships mean that the sailors are simply making it look good, and it is simply for photops during times of peace, whereas rusty ships means action occurring and no one has the time for photops.
