After all the COVID b.s. it's really hard to believe anything about any virus.
These seem to have a high fatality rate (40-70%), but cases are rare. Of course, if they've been screwing around with these in the biolabs to make the next 'big thing', all bets are off.
Considering COVID was made in a lab (not from nature), who knows what they've been up to?
