There are thousands of appointees by each administration. Trump kept 1,400 Obama appointees with his 1st term for over one year. Pure folly.
I spent much of my life in the boutique management consulting industry. 90% + are true conservatives. Almost all of them lost their careers with the election of Barack Obama. He killed the management consulting industry in the USA. And it has not come back, even with the 1st term of Trump.
If Trump truly wanted to staff his operations, he should call upon all these management consultants to take up positions with his government, and kill two birds with one stone. These people would be highly trained to affect the desired outcomes of DOGE and reduce the size of the federal government in weeks what would take years with the typical bureaucrats, if at all.
Displacing the Biden/Democommie appointees is a few weeks versus 1+ year timespan will make a huge difference in the Trump Administration achieving the desired outcome of reduced government. Elon Musk is a brilliant man, but he has little to no comprehension how federal government operates, and his DOGE effort will NOT achieve the desired outcomes with his mindset. Government is not a privately owned company that he controls. He will accomplish little, get discouraged and go off and do other things.

Musk will bail too. This can be accomplished, but it must be done by people who know how to scale back operations. Folks from the boutique management consulting industry can do in weeks what will never get done, even under Musk!!!
Anyone that has an in on these boards with key folks on Trump's team, I would gladly talk to whoever. I am telling you, 1,000+ boutique consultants could immediately take positions that would begin the process of DOGE and do it managing departments across the whole federal government. I believe staff can be reduced 40% across the board, and done in such a way to guarantee those reduced staffing for years, if not decades.
And I know a great deal about healthcare insurance. The feds have 28+ separate pyramids each with its own bureaucratic team making six figure incomes thinking how they can complicate healthcare further. WHY? Really, why? The savings would be in the tens of billions each year. HUGE SAVINGS, but this will not be obtained by having the usual suspects lead the way!!
