The decision comes as the death toll from devastating fires in Los Angeles rises to 24, with ongoing firefighting efforts. The ongoing Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, Lidia, and Kenneth fires have caused unprecedented damage in Southern California, leading to nearly 180,000 evacuations and estimated damages of $150 billion.
