Clinton's comments came just as House Speaker Mike Johnson released a new version of a continuing resolution

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sounded off Thursday about Elon Musk’s influence over the spending drama on Capitol Hill.

"If you're just catching up: the Republican Party, taking orders from the world's richest man, is on course to shut down the government over the holidays, stopping paychecks for our troops and nutrition benefits for low-income families just in time for Christmas," the 2016 presidential candidate wrote on X.

Clinton, a former first lady and senator, was in Congress from 2001 to 2009.

Her comments came just as House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., released a new version of a continuing resolution, or CR, to keep the government open beyond a Friday night deadline.

If only this were true.  It would be awesome to shut down the greatest impediment to the American Dream that the people have ever faced.  In the name of ending inflation. shut it down already.

Elon Musk’s early influence on the political process has Democrats in a tizzy after he helped sink the obscene, pork-stuffed continuing resolution to fund the government, even causing Hillary Clinton to slither out.

The billionaire X owner and incoming DOGE head slammed the 1,500+ page bill, a leftist wish list that was filled with nasty surprises, including a pay raise for Congress at a time when ordinary Americans are struggling to afford Christmas.

In a thoroughly dishonest Thursday post to X, the twice-failed Democrat presidential candidate conjured another conspiracy theory, blaming Musk – and not her own party – for the possibility of a government shutdown and all but accused him of being the Grinch who’s going to steal Christmas.
