Axelrod: Trump, Musk need to ‘decide who the president is’
by Ashleigh Fields - 12/19/24 7:40 AM ET

Democratic strategist David Axelrod poked fun at President-elect Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk for their public dialogue after the duo pushed back against House Republicans’ bill to avert a government shutdown ahead of Friday’s deadline.

“What was confusing to me is Musk sends out one of his tweets, and he says no one should do anything until January 20th when Trump gets there,” Axelrod said during a Wednesday morning CNN appearance “AC360.”

“Trump sends out a tweet saying they ought to pass a clean, a clean [continuing resolution]… So they seem to be saying different things, and eventually they’re gonna have to get together and decide who the president is,” he added.

Earlier Axelrod told guest host Jim Sciutto that it looked like Republicans were making headway before Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy chimed in urging lawmakers to vote against the bill.

In a series of posts, the SpaceX CEO declared the bill a “piece of pork” and said those that support it should not be reelected.

“Any member of the House or Senate who votes for this outrageous spending bill deserves to be voted out in 2 years!” he wrote in a post on social platform X, which he owns.

I believe Joe Biden is President David.  Well, in name only that is.

So STFU you partisan hack.

Democrats pile on ‘President Musk’ for interfering in spending bill fight

.

Democrats are suggesting Elon Musk is a “shadow president” who is eclipsing President-elect Donald Trump after he played a pivotal role in killing a government spending bill.

Early on Wednesday morning, Musk announced his opposition to legislation meant to keep the government funded and avert a shutdown, posting about the funding more than 100 times that day. He criticized the continuing resolution for containing a slew of costly, unrelated provisions, warning that any Republican who voted for the 1,547-page bill could expect to see a primary challenge.

While Trump remained on the sidelines for most of the day, Musk was in attack mode, drawing the attention of Democrats who asked whether he was “in charge” of Republicans, even suggesting that he was usurping Trump’s authority.

The tactic might have gotten under Trump’s skin, as he chimed in just after 5 p.m. to rail against the bill himself.

Democrats rage at "unelected co-president" Elon Musk

    Andrew Solender

Democratic members of Congress are incensed at the outsized power billionaire-turned-Trump lieutenant Elon Musk appears to be exercising over the policymaking process.

Why it matters: Musk's fervent public opposition helped scuttle a federal funding deal Democrats were prepared to support en masse – putting the government on the brink of a holiday shutdown.

Some Republicans have cheered Musk's role, with Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) even floating him as a replacement for House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.).

What they're saying: Coming in and out of a closed-door caucus meeting Thursday, Democrats had an array of colorful descriptors for Musk's standing in Trump's orbit.

"If this is the type of power he has, then he is going to be the unelected co-president of this country and we've got to be super blunt about it," said Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.).
"He's president and Trump is now vice president," said Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.).
Said Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.): "A lot of the Republicans are pushing for him to become speaker of the House, which might be a demotion for him because he's basically the fourth branch of the government."

Musk is living rent free in their tiny little brains.  It's a beautiful thing to watch.

Axelrod needs to have a steamy cup of STFU.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

I just hope that Trump doesn't start believing this crock and get all wee-weed up at Musk.

Musk can be a very affective part of his administration.
