Health Officials Fear RFK
An article published by MSN says scientists are afraid that the appointment of Robert F. Kennedy, jr. to head the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will further erode public trust in science. "Science is losing its place as a source of truth," said Dr. Paul Offit, a physician at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. "It's becoming just another voice in the room."
"Considering the sloppiness of the science deployed by Pfizer in developing the mRNA covid vaccine, the explicitly anti-science resort to censorship to suppress critics of this sloppiness, and the arrogance of Dr. Anthony Fauci's assertion 'I am the science,' the demotion of these voices is warranted," Kennedy said. "As recently released data and investigations have shown, the lock downs, the masks, and the coercive vaccination mandates all did more harm than the virus would've done if left untreated."
"Cardiologists in New Zealand revealed that covid mRNA vaccines are cardiotoxic and have generated unprecedented spikes in heart failure, sudden deaths, and other deadly diseases," Kennedy pointed out. "A team of researchers from the McCullough Foundation analyzed 44 papers documenting 325 autopsies and one necropsy and found that 74% of deaths were directly or significantly linked to COVID-19 vaccination."
"The Pfizer Papers: Pfizer's Crimes against Humanity, edited by Naomi Wolf and Amy Kelly, and with the help of 3,250 immunologists, oncologists, obstetricians, pharmacologists, biologists, and chemists, examined 450,000 pages of documents that the FDA wanted a judge to keep secret for 75 years. They discovered that the top management at Pfizer had known by April 2021 that their injections 'damaged the hearts' of young people. They knew that the jab had a myriad of other side effects – and that it was especially unsafe for pregnant women, young mothers, fetuses, and infants. Whining about lost credibility pales in the face of the culpability the perpetrators of this atrocity deserve to face."
Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif) called the Kennedy nomination "f*ing insane. He's a vaccine denier and a tin foil hat conspiracy theorist. He will destroy our public health infrastructure and our vaccine distribution systems."
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) said Kennedy "poses a danger to public health, scientific research, medicine, and health care coverage for millions. He wants to stop parents from protecting their babies from measles."
Sen. Patty Murray, (D-Wash) asserted that "the idea of RFK serving as the nation's top health official could not be more dangerous. There's no telling how far an anti-vaxxer and fringe conspiracy theorist like RFK Jr. could set America back in terms of public health, reproductive rights, research, and more."
President-Elect Donald Trump expressed "my gratitude for the helpful input I've received from some of the same people who so recently slandered me as 'Hitler' in the recent campaign. I'm more convinced than ever that Robert Kennedy is precisely the person we need at the Department of Health and Human Services."
Electric Bus Woes
The woke leaders of Austin, Texas' vision of a totally electric bus system for the city has run into a few snags. The 46 new buses they bought for $1 million each will have to sit idle for at least a year because the current charging system can't handle the load.
You see, diesel-powered buses can run nearly 24 hours on each tank of fuel. Electric buses need to be recharged every 10 hours. They also breakdown twice as often as the diesel buses. This problem is complicated by the bankruptcy of the Biden Administration-favored Silicon Valley-based Proterra, which is making warranties worthless and spare parts hard to come by.
Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm pointed out that "the goal of zero-emissions transit is still being met whether the buses run or not. So, we consider the transition to a fully electric system a qualified success."
In related news, Granholm resigned her position on the board of directors for Proterra and sold her stock in the company for a $1.6 million capital gain when she became the Secretary of Energy in 2021.
Gov Stocks Up On Abortion Drugs
After Trump's election win, Gov. Tina Kotek (D-Ore) ordered the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) to increase its stockpile of mifepristone to last until to September, 2028. Kotek described the expansion as "a defense against federal attacks on our reproductive rights."
For all the wailing coming from the left after the Supreme Court overturned the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision creating a nationwide right to an abortion with its 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization decision, the number of abortions has increased from an average of 84,000 per month to a current average of 100,000 per month. So-called reproductive rights are now more readily available than ever.
The availability of the non-surgical option offered by mifepristone now accounts for about 60% of all abortions. While easy and convenient, drug-induced abortions are not without risk. They are associated with an adverse reaction rate four times that of surgical abortions, including an increased risk of hemorrhage and incomplete abortion. The FDA says about 85% of women who use this method report at least one adverse reaction.
While the Governor acknowledged that "Trump has no authority to override the Supreme Court's determination that the issue is one for each state to decide for itself, we must be prepared for any scheme aimed at reducing the number of abortions he might concoct to increase the number of babies born. One such scheme that is currently in place gives taxpayers extra deductions for each child they have. It's sneaky and unfair to childless women who don't get any tax deductions for the children they abort."
LA to Resist Trump "Deportation Machine"
Los Angeles City Councilman Hugo Soto-Martínez says "we will defy Trump's effort to deport any person who has sought sanctuary here. The city of Los Angeles will not be collaborating or using any City resource to enforce his deportation machine. Trump's goons won't be able to land at our airport, drive on our streets, or enter any public building. They will be arrested and put on trial if they ignore these rules."
Tom Homan, the person President-Elect Donald Trump has selected to be his "border czar,'' said "nothing will stop us from deporting migrant criminals. These would be people like Jose Ibarra, the illegal immigrant and member of Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua recently convicted of murdering Laken Riley in Georgia. Are the LA police really going to try to prevent us from removing other members of the Tren de Aragua gang who are operating in their city? Are these the type of people we want in our country?"
Roxanne Hoge, communications director for the LA County Republican Party, criticized the concept of sanctuary cities and states, saying "the protections Councilman Soto-Martínez and others offer aren't for abuelas getting ice cream, they're for people who've entered the country illegally and committed additional crimes. Whether drunk driving, robbery, sexual violence, assault or murder, none of those should go unpunished. By failing to assist Trump's efforts to get these criminals out of the country they're endangering law-abiding residents of every race and ethnicity.''
Leftist Loons Poke the Russian Bear
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer characterized Russian objections to having British Storm Shadow missiles fired deep into their country as "irresponsible rhetoric that will not deter us from supporting Ukraine. Putin's talk of a lowered threshold for a nuclear strike is a bluff that I'm calling right here and now."
Not to be outdone by Starmer, the addled occupant of the White House authorized Ukraine to fire powerful long-range Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) into Russia. "We need to Trump-proof the investment we've already made in this war so it can't be squandered by the incoming administration," Biden said. "This escalation will thwart Trump's boast that he could quickly negotiate peace between the combatants."
Last September, Vyacheslav Volodin, the chairman of the Russian Duma, warned that "strikes against Russia with the ATACMS would be a considerable escalation. Russia would have to use more powerful and destructive weapons in retaliation." This week Russia hit targets in Ukraine with several medium-range ballistic missiles. Although these strikes did not carry nuclear warheads, the missiles used are fully capable of carrying them.
Rob Magowan, the deputy chief of the British defense staff, told the House of Commons defense committee "we're ready to fight Putin. Letting him know the British Army is ready, willing, and able to meet and defeat his army on the battlefield is the best deterrent we have for making him give up this war."
On Wednesday, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that "President Putin is ready for talks to end the Ukraine war with American President-Elect Donald Trump. He is the American voters' choice for who they want to lead the country. Trump campaigned on a platform that included negotiating an end to this war. Why not let him get started before the warmongers make things worse?"
In related news, the US Department of Defense (DOD) failed its seventh consecutive audit. Secretary Lloyd Austen III insisted that "failing an audit doesn't mean we haven't been doing our job. After all, I am the first African American to lead the DOD. Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program has made great strides. All of our officers have been drilled on its goals and our fighting forces are as diverse as they have ever been in our nation's history. In light of this, the billions of dollars of missing money and weapons seems unimportant."
Transgender Politics Heats Up
The grossly obese Gov. JB Pritzker (D-Ill) used Transgender Awareness Week—November 12 to 19—to announce his intention "to make Illinois the 'go to' location for folks seeking a sex change. This will complement our state's unlimited abortion guarantee that anyone can come here and get a publicly-funded abortion, no questions asked. Other Democrats may try to imitate me, but I'm setting the pace. Voters will see this and choose me as the Party's 2028 nominee for president."
Former Biden White House press secretary and current MSNBC host Jen Psaki declared that "state laws seeking to bar men who identify as women from participating in women's sports, entering women's locker rooms, and using women's restrooms are discriminatory. The claim that such laws are needed for safety or fairness is unsubstantiated. I think all Democrats should double down on this issue if they want to remain competitive with Gov. Pritzker for the 2028 election cycle. I think protecting the rights of transgenders to go wherever they want and do whatever they like will be a winning issue for Democrats going forward."
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif) proclaimed November 20 to be Transgender Day of Remembrance Day. To commemorate the lives tragically lost to bigotry and violence against trans people, we reaffirm our commitment to fight for the safety, equality and inclusion of our LGBTQ community. In partnership with the LGBTQ Caucus, our state has advanced nation-leading action to protect and support our LGBTQ community and celebrate their right to live their lives out loud." Early polls show Newsom to be among the leaders in the race to be the Democrat nominee for president in the 2028 election.
Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Mary Margaret McKeown questioned the Olympus Spa's "female only" policy saying that to her "it suspiciously resembles a 'whites only' policy. The fact that they allow transgenders who have gone through post-operative sex confirmation surgery doesn't get them off the hook. The crucial fact is that a person with a penis can still identify as a woman yet be unfairly barred from a women-only spa. Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wisely admitted that she couldn't define what a woman is because she is not a biologist. Well, neither are the owners of the Olympus Spa. So their attempts to ban intact biological men who self-identify as women appears to be unconstitutional discrimination."
Gov Budget Cuts Spark Economic Boom
In October of 2023, Javier Milei was elected president of Argentina on a pledge to cut government expenses. In the first quarter of 2024 government expenses were cut by almost 29%. The government's large deficit was turned into a surplus. Once this spending was removed the GDP accounts indicated a recession of 3.4%.
However, the elimination of a portion of the government's wasteful spending has stimulated the nation's economy. JP Morgan projects that "annual GDP growth will be 8.5%. The optimism about President Milei's bold free-market reforms to slash public spending, and reduce government intervention is curbing inflation and boosting economic stability leading to rising confidence in Argentina's potential for growth."
Trump's co-director of the new Department of Government Efficiency Vivek Ramaswamy said "we are confident we can replicate these results here in America."
