‘Disheartened’ George Clooney taking ‘step back’ from politics after Kamala thumping
November 10, 2024 | Chris Donaldson Hollywood A-lister George Clooney’s influence took a major hit with Kamala Harris’ landslide loss, prompting the “disheartened” actor to take a break from the politics business.
The 63-year-old “Oceans Eleven” star was all-in on the effort to repackage the national joke as a serious presidential candidate but unlike things do in the movies, the Harris campaign didn’t have a happy ending with the Democrat nominee on the short end of an Electoral College beatdown as well as the popular vote.
Having played a big part in the ouster of President Joe Biden as the party’s rightful nominee, Clooney is getting blamed by some for a loss that could be even more disappointing on the left coast than in 2016 when Hillary Clinton went down to defeat, and he’s reportedly taking a “step back” after being scapegoated for the return of Donald J. Trump to the White House.
