Swing-state Democrats ‘absolutely’ will accept election results if Trump wins

ASHEVILLE, North Carolina — Democratic voters overwhelmingly told the Washington Examiner that they would accept the results if former President Donald Trump wins the 2024 election.
For weeks, concerns of a second Jan. 6 have percolated to the front of political discourse. Vice President Kamala Harris and her allies have suggested that should Trump lose the election again, or if there is any type of delay in counting the vote, he and his supporters could try to seize power.
Over the past month, Harris has claimed that Trump is growing increasingly “unhinged” and seeking “absolute power.” The vice president told NBC News that she has a team of lawyers prepared to handle any legal challenges launched by the Trump campaign, should he try to declare victory early as he did in 2020.
Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), Harris’s running mate, has similarly suggested that Trump’s half-hearted proposal to bring in military members to police voting locations might already amount to treason.
“The idea of sending U.S. military personnel against American citizens makes me sick to my stomach,” Walz said during an October interview with Fox News. “I’ll tell you what, we’ll let the lawyers decide if what he said was treason, but what I know is it’s a call for violence, plain and simple, and it’s pretty damn un-American if you ask me.”
