Newsom: It Is Not an Overstatement to Call Trump a Fascist

Pam Key 20 Oct 2024

Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) said Sunday on MSNBC’s “Inside” that it was not an overstatement to call former President Donald Trump a fascist.

Newsom said, “I said this from day one, he is weakness masquerading a strength. He’s a broken person. You are seeing that. He’s becoming increasingly this is remarkable to be able to say this because he is often graded on the curve, and he is increasingly acting deranged and unhinged. The rhetoric coming from the Harris campaign absolutely mimics what we are watching, and you saw that 39 minute curious narcissism on another level, where people had to sort of stare at dear leader as he was dancing or zoning out. I mean, this is a profound and remarkable moment.”

He continued, “I know it’s a loaded word, but when you say you’re going to be dictator on day one, I mean, look up the definition of fascism, the characteristics of a dictator an authoritarian.”

Newsom added, “I don’t think it is overstating, but I deeply recognize that those are loaded words when you use words like fascism it turns some people off, but again, by definition, I think that is a fair assessment from the Vice President and General Milley.”

Greasy Gavin would think that being he aligns with communist ideology.

Says the fascist that shut down California and persecuted those didn’t bow down to his rules which conveniently didn’ apply to him, his business or those he favored.

On the one hand, Newsom criticizes Trump for being a dictator. On the other hand, Obama claims 400K lives would have been saved if only Trump had, in effect, declared martial law during COVID. You just can't win for losing with these people.

Gavin had a chance to enter the race.  Poor guy.  Regret is the worst emotion.  You know he's hoping Trump wins so he isn't twiddling his greasy little thumbs for 6 years.

Yes, maybe you ought to do that, Gov. Greaseball.

Goodhair is not a smart man.  Maybe he will be recalled as Gov.

It's not an overstatement.  It's a lie.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

No, it's not an overstatement.  It's a meaningless pejorative.  "Fascist" in the mouth of all but the most intellectually astute of Leftists (in which no category any left-of-center American politico falls) has no meaning more than "someone I hate who is politically to my Right."

On the other hand, when I call someone a "Fascist" I mean they espouse what Mussolini said Fascism meant:  the union of state and corporate power.  (You know, like successfully leaning on social media companies to suppress views and news stories unfavorable to the government line, subsidizing favored products with tax revenue, that sort of thing.)
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.
