Over the past three years, border agents have encountered more than 1.7 million migrants who come from countries that pose a national security threat to the U.S., according to a new report from the House Judiciary Committee. The Committee is calling out the open-borders agenda of the Biden-Harris Administration for enabling the influx of these “special interest aliens” at our borders since the beginning of Fiscal Year (FY) 2021.
According to the committee, a special interest alien is an alien from one of 26 countries that the United States deems a national security or counterintelligence threat. The list of special countries, which was updated in 2024, includes Afghanistan, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Nigeria, Syria, and Turkey, and newly designated countries such as China, North Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mauritania, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Venezuela. This year alone (FY 2024), over half a million special interest aliens have been encountered at our borders.
