New Report Blames Climate Policies for California’s High Gas Prices After Newsom Claimed It Was ‘Big Oil’

A new report from the Energy Policy Research Foundation (EPRF) has concluded that California’s “climate change” policies are to blame for the state’s soaring gas prices.

The confirmation comes despite insistence from Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom that “Big Oil” was to blame for the state’s higher-than-average fuel prices.

According to the EPRF analysis by researcher Max Pyziur, California has several climate policies impacting gasoline prices that are unique to the state.

AAA reported that the average gas price nationwide was around $3.17 a gallon.

In California, however, the average price is $4.67 a gallon.

California environmental law requires a state-specific blend of gasoline that is only distilled by a few refiners in California.  Gasoline cannot be trucked in from Oregon or Arizona because they don't use California's prorietary gasoline blend.

Scarcity creates value (higher price, cost, worth).  By locking Californians into using a state-properietary gasoline blend only refined in California by a handful of refineries, California loses access to a more fungible supply of a regional gasoline blend.  Fewer suppliers and less supply, dictated by California state laws, drive up market prices.

For California drivers and transportation companies, the enemy is the short-sighted, market-ignorant, radical, Marxist, Stalinst legislature and Governor of California.

Government is the cuase for higher energy costs.  Government is to blame for higher housing costs.  Government is to blame for a flood of illegal immigrants draining community resources.  Only less Government will solve those problems.

Californians need only to look at their Politburo in Sacromento as the singular cause of higher gasoline prices paid by Californians.

The vast majority of Californian voters have an amoeba sized brain...and similar memory. I just finished a trip to CO and back, average price of gas in all 3 states was just around $3 per gallon. CA is $4.50 or higher depending on what and where you buy, so I'm not sure where the article gets its "0.90 cents higher" number from.
Throwing our allegiances to political parties in the long run gave away our liberty.
