Hurricane Helene has left a path of destruction across the Southeastern United States and caused catastrophic flooding.

Western North Carolina has been decimated by the storm, with hundreds of road closures.

According to social media users, Asheville, a city of nearly 100,000 residents, is isolated and only accessible by air.

“Asheville, NC is accessible only by air,” one social media user said.

“No electricity, no gas, no food or running water, no banks, no school, what about hospitals??? The list is endless. How do you start over? It’s mindblowing. And the small towns around Asheville not in any better shape,” she claimed.

Yes it is an absolutely mind boggling and something that's going to take years. To see devastation like this is really heart wrenching. Hopefully soon there will be organizations on the ground to help people who were displaced find some place habitable while the area is rebuilt. FEMA (and I'm judging by Ian) was basically a non-existent entity and some people waited over 6 months to get into trailers; they lived in their cars, make-shift tents, etc.

What is even more mind boggling is Asheville is just one area demolished by Helene. The governors needs to act swiftly and efficiently.  Also ... no worries ... Joe has this under control.  *****rollingeyes*****
