The Taboo Word that Mass Immigration Advocates Won’t Utter Before November
September 10, 2024
Although immigration is a top issue in the 2024 political campaign, hotly contested and widely discussed, a word integral to the debate is missing — at least from one side — and for good reason. If said by mass immigration advocates, it would reveal their long-standing, hidden agenda and cause their policy platform to collapse. Savvy Americans don’t need to “buy a vowel” from the Wheel of Fortune to quickly guess that the secret seven-letter word is A-M-N-E-S-T-Y.
For the open-borders crowd, avoiding that word is crucial because clarity and truth are their enemy. While they support illegal alien mass amnesty, admitting it while migrant flows are at an all-time high, and interior and border enforcement is at an all-time low, is political suicide. Americans know the basic physics of amnesty; it would simply reward illegal behavior, encourage more, exacerbate the nation’s current border crisis, and be a slap in the face to those who play by the rules. As such, Americans have concluded that amnesty offers nothing for them, and alarm bells go off when they hear it mentioned.
But, rather than change their unpopular policy, mass immigration enthusiasts instead simply changed their language: “Fix (or reform) a broken immigration system” is now the obfuscating, Officialdom substitute word for amnesty. President Barack Obama popularized the phrase in 2010 and since then, “fixing our broken immigration system” has gradually become a wink-and-a-nod workaround for “amnesty” parroted by mass immigration politicians and mainstream news outlets who’ve gotten lots of practice saying it without choking on its duplicity. Today, it’s used exclusively; no exceptions, and woe be to any sloppy speechwriter who inadvertently spills the beans by including an antiquated, yet revealing, “amnesty” onto an open-border politician’s teleprompter.
