It’s déjà blue: The media is promoting Kamala Harris without substance – just like Obama in 2008

A year into Barack Obama’s presidency, Sarah Palin, a former Alaska governor and John McCain’s 2008 running mate, mockingly asked a Tea Party gathering a question: “How’s that hopey, changey stuff working out?”

The roomful of conservatives howled with laughter because by then, Obama’s dreamy campaign motto of “Hope and Change” had been replaced by hard policy lurches to the far left.

The Palin question is a piece of history 2024 voters should keep in mind as they assess Kamala Harris.

The parallels between then and now are striking.

Like Obama, the Democrats’ current nominee has been maddeningly elusive about what she would do as president.

Yet she is nonetheless riding a wave of enthusiasm that could carry her to the White House.

As they did with Obama, big media outlets are helping to promote her candidacy rather than vetting her for voters.

Take recent top headlines in The New York Times: On Friday, beside a huge flattering photo of her, the newspaper declared: “Harris Making History While Putting Her Faith In the Art of the Possible.”

  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...
And in some ways I love it. Trump has his personality issues, and there's question of will he pull the trigger and do the things this time he says he will do, especially reel in the debt spending, but just on the platform itself it's pretty solid.

Shamala has nothing. Well not totally nothing, virulent revolutionary nation leveling Marxism run by a psychotic, unstable control freak despot and masked with lights, rainbows, unicorns, and joy, but you get my point.

The nation has a stark choice, even more than it did with 0bama. It can agree to go towards solid ground and a semblance of common sense, or it can leap off the cliff and go at breakneck for the hard bottom.
The Republic is lost.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.

For the nation to make that choice, it has to see clearly what the respective candidates stand for. Kamala is hidden behind bright lights, more hopey change, and a cackle. Trump's buried in MSM lies and even paid for ads against him in a cloud of Orange man bad hate.

Rational thought is not possible when no facts are in evidence, and, unfortunately, there is that voting bloc who will be most heavily influenced by being called a 'f*cktard' by some bot on social media.

The Republic is in trouble, but its like a sinking ship with the upper decks worried about the drapes, and only a very few realizing they need to stop the leaks.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I'm hoping the debates will clarify things and hope Trump is on his game. The difference between Shamala and Obama is that Shamala is a know quantity with a record that simply needs brought out.
The Republic is lost.

Harris-Walz is the media flavor of the week.  The new-ness will wear off.
