House Passes Resolution Condemning the Biden-Harris Administration’s Failure to Secure the Border
August 01, 2024
On July 25, the House of Representatives passed H. Res. 1371, condemning President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ failure to secure the border. The resolution passed the same week that President Biden announced he would not seek a second term. It was approved by a vote of 220-196, with all Republicans and six Democrats in support.
In March 2021, Vice President Harris was tasked with responding to the border crisis and addressing the “root causes” of migration. In that role she has failed to take any steps to secure our borders, instead opting to support policies that put illegal aliens before American citizens. Unsurprisingly, during the past three and a half years, approximately 10 million illegal aliens have been encountered by Customs and Border Protection (CBP), while at least 1.8 million “gotaways” are known to have crossed the border illegally, but were not encountered by immigration authorities. During the Biden-Harris administration annual, monthly, and daily encounter of illegal aliens have broken all records.
H.R. 1371 underscores Harris’ failure to support strong border security or even meet with Border Patrol agents. Specifically, the resolution draws attention to:
