n the aftermath of FBI Director Christopher Wray’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, former President Donald Trump, along with prominent Republicans, are calling for Wray’s immediate resignation. The controversy stems from Wray’s comments suggesting that Trump may not have been directly hit by a bullet in the recent assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania.

Christopher Wray, appointed by Trump in 2017, faced ridicule as he discussed the FBI’s ongoing investigation into the incident. However, his remarks did not sit well with the former president and his allies, who have accused Wray of being dishonest and unfit for his role as the head of the nation’s primary investigative agency.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) expressed his longstanding doubts about Wray’s capabilities in a Fox News interview on Friday. “I’ve always said Wray should resign long before he answered that question in Judiciary Committee yesterday,” Comer said vehemently. “Look, if Christopher Wray is head of the FBI and he was telling the truth that he didn’t notice anything wrong with Joe Biden then he’s not much of an investigator and he shouldn’t be leading our chief investigative agency in America.”
