Former President Donald Trump‘s lead over President Joe Biden has ballooned since the president’s disastrous debate performance last week, according to a new poll.

A New York Times-Siena College poll released on Wednesday shows Trump leading Biden 49%-43% nationally with likely voters, in the survey conducted from June 28 though Tuesday. It is a 3% improvement for Trump compared to the survey conducted by the pollster just before the June 27 debate.

The Biden campaign sent a memo to staff earlier Wednesday looking to get ahead of this poll, which shows the president in a deep hole four months out from the election. The survey comes as Biden is facing mounting calls to step aside from the Democrats’ presidential ticket.

The Dems are already all in to get rid of Trump. There are no limits to what they'll do, as well demonstrated already. There's no way they'll let Jill continue to obstruct them from their goal.

The average is a 2-4 point lead for Trump, depending on the durability of third party support.  Trump's favorability is in the low 40's ... or about where it was on election day 2020.  He remains vulnerable if Biden is replaced.

Trump has huge negatives. It takes a dumpster fire to compete with those negatives. If the dumpster fire goes away Trump would likely be in serious trouble. A way out for millions who do not want to vote for either one.
