Gas prices continued to trickle downward on Wednesday as the average cost for a gallon of regular gas stood at $3.575, according to AAA. This continues the downward trend in prices that started before Memorial Day Weekend.

Wednesday’s prices decreased from Tuesday’s averages of $3.592 per gallon and Monday’s costs of $3.593 per gallon. Gas prices are also less expensive than last week, when the average price for a gallon of regular gas in the country stood at $3.611.

Wednesday’s prices also mark a decrease from the average gas prices around the nation this time last month, when it cost $3.659 per gallon. Gas prices are also officially cheaper than they were last year, when the average price for a gallon of regular gas was $3.582.

This headline is about a $.02 a gallon decrease?  That is static and noise in the world of gas/oil commodity prices.

And an example of how the media manipulates headline minutia to aid Biden.  The Examiner?  I'd thought better.

I never saw a downward trend before the weekend but I filled up yesterday and gas was 20¢ less than a week before...some ones playing some serious games because gas was high two weeks before Memorial day weekend so it wasn't just because of the holiday.

$.20/gallon is newsworthy.  But $.02?

I fully expect the price back up in a week or so, and people to get really angry.

I believe demand is down.  Less people traveling longer distances. last year at the start of summer more people spending money for vacation travel. High demand. Higher prices.  This year tourist season (for us spring break) sucked. This past memorial day...same.

Earlier this year, gasoline prices here went UP from $2.79 9/10 a gallon (87 octane regular) and are now sitting around $3.59 9/10. A two cent per gallon drop isn't much, and not enough to crow about. I can get a discount that big buying a bag of chips at a nearby grocery store that has gas islands, too--and I have the chips.

I recently drove to the East coast and back (about 4400 miles). Fuel Prices ranged from $3.09 9/10 north of Kansas City MO, to $3.79 9/10 in MD for 87 octane regular. Had I been able to knock off .02 from every gallon I bought (about 300 gallons, total) I would have saved a whole six dollars. On the east coast, that will barely buy a cup of coffee.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Down $.10 a gallon here
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.
