Hunter Biden’s lawyers now say the prosecutors reneged on the plea deal
Hunter Biden’s attorneys assigned blame for their failed plea agreement in a Sunday court filing after being questioned on whether government prosecutors were “incompetent.”
Since Friday’s appointment of Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss as a special counsel related to Hunter Biden’s criminal probe, attempts to control the narrative culminated in a court filing from the defense Sunday night.
That three-page document, according to The Wall Street Journal, took aim at the prosecution and leveled it was the Justice Department that had moved to “renege on the previously agreed-upon plea agreement” related to Biden’s tax fraud.
The filing followed a motion from Weiss filed Friday to dismiss the charges “for these offenses and any other related tax offenses lies either in the Central District of California or in the District of Columbia.”
