Note Cards, Early Nights, Less Stairs, Vacations: How Biden’s Age Impacts His Campaign

Simon Kent 24 Jul 2023

Octogenarian President Joe Biden is getting ready to hit the road for his run at the 2024 election and already his aides are making sure his efforts are in keeping with an 80-year-old who critics say is just too old for the highest office in the land.

Three NBC news reporters – Carol E. Lee, Peter Nicholas and Monica Alba – had a piece published Monday detailing a host of modifications to Biden’s day-to-day scheduling designed to limit the possibility of him failing to deliver in public. They noted:

Joe Biden’s aides realized they had a problem last month when the president tripped over a sandbag — hard — at the Air Force Academy’s graduation ceremony. Afterward, a few huddled to figure out what may have gone wrong and how to make sure that such an embarrassing and dangerous incident “never happens again,” according to two people familiar with the discussion.

“You can’t be too careful,” one said.

And in all of this, I will continue to ask, where the hell is his wife coming to his defense? If the rest of us can tell that there’s something wrong with him from just snippets  that we catch on news, she has to see it up close, personal and intensified

She must be one cruel woman. Of course, this is the same family that won’t recognize a granddaughter.
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

The NBC story barely scratched the surface and seemed to gloss over his serious missteps and misstatements. The anecdotes about Joe's being sharp as a tack and full of pep on Air Force One while his staff slump exhausted in their seats simply are not believable.

RFK Jr. admits he ‘would definitely not’ vote for himself if he believed the news: ‘Even more than Trump was slammed’
By Ryan King
July 23, 2023 6:34pm

Democratic presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr. acknowledged Sunday that even he wouldn’t vote for himself if he believed the news.

“If I believed the stuff that’s written about me in the papers and reported about me on the mainstream news sites, I would definitely not vote for me,” Kennedy said on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“I would think I was a very despicable person.”

Kennedy Jr., an environmental lawyer and nephew of slain President John F. Kennedy, contended that he’s weathered more flack than Donald Trump.

“I’ve been really, you know, slammed in a way that I think is unprecedented,” said Kennedy, whose political-dynasty dad, Bobby Kennedy, also was assassinated in the 1960s.

“Even more than President Trump was slammed by the mainstream corporate media,” RFK Jr. said.

Kennedy remains a longshot Dem challenger to incumbent President Biden, trailing him by more than 51 percentage points in the latest RealClearPolitics aggregate.

"Three NBC news reporters – Carol E. Lee, Peter Nicholas and Monica Alba – had a piece published Monday detailing a host of modifications to Biden’s day-to-day scheduling designed to limit the possibility of him failing to deliver in public."

The problem with this approach -- taking steps "designed to limit the possibility of him failing to deliver in public." -- is that, after taking those steps, he fails anyway.
