MICHIGANISTAN: Muslim woman claims damages, threatens lawsuit after Sheriff’s Office forced her to remove her hijab for mugshot
JUNE 2, 2023 BY BARENAKEDISLAM21 COMMENTS
Muslim woman Jannah Hague was arrested by the Kent County Sheriff’s Department after a domestic altercation at her home and taken to the Kent County Jail where she was forced to remove her Islamic hijab head covering for a booking photograph.

CAIR Designated terrorist group CAIR has filed notice of a claim against the Kent County Sheriff Department on behalf of the 22-year-old Muslim, Janna Hague, who was arrested for a domestic altercation and taken to jail where she allegedly was “forcibly stripped” of her head covering in front of male officers and detainees over her objections. The mugshot was then placed on the sheriff’s office website that is searchable by the public.

The Kent County Sheriff’s office disputes the claim saying:

In a statement, CAIR-MI Executive Director Dawud Walid said:  “Muslim women have the right to their sincerely-held religious expression even when encountering law enforcement. The Law enforcement officials involved in Ms. Hague’s detention need better training in Islamic religious rights (by CAIR, of course) to ensure that no Muslim woman is ever again striped of her hijab in public.”

The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.

Sorry, but if it's for a mug shot, it has to be without head coverings.
