FBI Director Christopher Wray offers to let James Comer see Biden bribery allegation file

WASHINGTON — FBI Director Christopher Wray offered Wednesday to allow House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer to privately review an informant file alleging President Biden was involved in bribery — as a top White House spokesman insisted there was “nothing to” the corruption claims.

A source familiar with Wray’s early-afternoon call with Comer (R-Ky.) and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) told The Post that the FBI chief confirmed the existence of an FD-1023 informant file from June 2020 accusing Biden of bribery and offered the lawmakers “in camera review” of the document.

The FBI had refused to share the document following a legally binding May 3 subpoena from Comer, which the chairman said Tuesday he would enforce with contempt proceedings against Wray.

Comer does not believe that the offer of in-camera review is sufficient to comply with the subpoena, the source said, indicating that the document standoff will continue as GOP leaders press for public disclosure of both the allegation and information about what the FBI did to review the claim.

He's right! It is not!

No, it wouldn't because if Comer agreed to that condition then he too would be unable to openly talk about it too, even though it is supposedly "unclassified."  The FBI would get to have its cake and eat it too, while letting Wray off the hook.

Exactly.
