Pentagon Suicide Report Shows How Deep The Army’s Problems Go

The Pentagon’s annual active duty suicide report, released Thursday, showed a decrease or minimal change rates for all services except the Army, which saw a slight increase between 2020 and 2021.

Experts say this points to deeper problems within Army culture, such as stigma over seeking assistance with mental health and a historic recruiting shortfall.
“They’re frankly falling short,” Cole Lyle, executive director of Mission Roll Call, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
