The inconvenient truth of electric vehicles
By James Poplar

As someone who is retired and on a fixed income, I am often chided by my progressive friends for driving a truck that is twenty-five years old with close to 300,000 miles on the odometer.  The typical refrain is, why are you not driving an electric vehicle (E.V.) that is environmentally friendly, vice your clunker that contributes to global warming?  After all, it is "the right and responsible thing to do."

Yes, I believe that the future of private transportation lies in electric and in other alternative (perhaps hydrogen)–powered vehicles, but for a number of reasons, the timing is not yet right to have the government mandate that I and others own an E.V.

I offer the following rationale:

First, from a national security standpoint, China made a conscious decision years ago to dominate the market in E.V. battery production and technology.  This is the same country that makes no bones about surpassing the United States as the world superpower.  In addition, China has an abysmal human rights record — what other country harvests the organs from its political opposition?  Why would we as a nation want to put our own national security at risk in the hands of a nation determined to impose communism around the globe?

The author missed another point:

Fifth, the electricity that powers most EVs is still generated by coal and natural gas, not solar, wind, or some other so-called "renewable" and therefore an EV is not, in fact, "better for the planet" than an up-to-date ICE is.

No, the left believes all electricity used for EV's come from Unicorn farts and all coal, natural gas generated electricity is magically converted to Unicorn farts at the power receptacle on EV's.

Perhaps some of you saw the segment, the Fox interviewer on the street, asking one question, WHERE DOES YOUR ELECTRIC COME FROM?  And the beauty of an answer when asked was from a young woman in her 20s that said in response....FROM THE OUTLET.  I was literally rolling on the floor.

The UGLY TRUTH about all of it spells out just how betrayed the American people are day in and day out.  Yes, betrayed by their elected officials on a grand scale.

Let's start with the fact we have 15 coal plants in operation at present.  China is building roughly 1,200 coal plants this year, India is building 700+ coal plants this year, and Europe is building over 400+ coal plants this year.  With the exception of a half dozen countries or so with the USA, very few countries are acting on this climate change bullsh*t!  Hell no, no nation would self destruct on such NON SCIENCE BULLCRAP!!!

They are closing one nuclear plant after another in the USA.  Now they want to eliminate natural gas, a rather clean form of energy like nuclear power.  But that does not matter.  And there is no solid plan to replace these power generation sources.  You remember folks freezing to death in Texas a year or two ago.  Get used to it.  It will  become a common event, people freezing to death, or dying of heat exposure in the warmer months.  Brown outs will be common in America.  The people that get solar with a battery will be somewhat immune from this nonsense, but the rest of us will be faced with harsh days ahead.  And the folks buying generators will be somewhat insulated too, but natural gas cost will go through the roof, making it not so sound an option.

When they come to the realization of their folly, remember it will take ten years to build a new nuclear plant.  Every bit of that.  So, for that period, Americans will die in the thousands, perhaps tens of thousands.  And there is nothing that will be done.  As easy as it is for many in our society to accept the genocide of the unborn, they will come to accept the death of those that do not have heat or AC, depending on the season.  And watch if the shills for the folks in power do not end up saying they all died and went to a better place.

I have yet to hear one scientist presenting a viable argument to support the notion of climate change, but I have listened to several highly credible scientists that claim it is largely nonsense.  And if you understand the original scam that Al Gore and Barack Obama were trying to force on America, you would question everything about the climate change BULLCRAP!!!  Thank God, their Cap and Trade legislation did not get passed in Congress.  But the idiocy of AOC, her green new turd of a deal is coming to reality with the passage of the Anti Inflation bill the Democommies passed yesterday.  No thinking human being would have ever imagined it to come to pass.

With the huge success they will herald from one corner of the nation to the other, don't be surprised when she decides to run for POTUS in 2024.  And it would be a false mindset to believe Trump would stomp her hard.  In fact, I think the election fixing team will be well oiled and more bolder than ever.  And the Republicans in two years have done nothing but support the election fixing.

Trump flew in to Macon with 70,000 waiting to hear him speak and stomp for Brian Kemp.  I was there, and it was an electric day.   And that rat f***(yes, I am speaking of Kemp) pulled the sh*t he did on the 2020 election.  I live in Georgia, and there is no doubt the election was fixed here, yet Kemp and Ratzenburger knifed Trump in the back repeatedly, like the good RINOs that they are.

So,who to pick from, a rat or a self serving Commie with Abrams?  And no, one is not the lesser of two evils, I consider them both great evils.

My 20th century ICE powered vehicle has one thing none of the EVs ever will. For 23 years *that's the youngster in the fleet* it has provided transportation. Instead of replacing it numerous times during its lifespan, a few key parts have been replaced and it keeps going.

Now lay out the carbon footprint for manufacturing seven vehicles to replace the original every three years, rather than just maintain the one I have. (We won't even go into printing up the money to buy those vehicles, either.) I think someone somewhere might understand that the fuel I burn in the meantime will pollute less over those 23 years than manufacturing and disposing of those other vehicles, even without factoring in operational contributions to a problem that is nothing humans can do one damned thing about, anyway.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
