You are right, @Right_in_Virginia,it could happen.

Now maybe the government will give all the city folks a tax credit for bicycles, and the rest of us can drive.

Oh,it can,and WILL happen as long as we keep electing RINO's and Dims.

They will do it by the most obvious way. They will only produce cars suitable for city driving, and even then restrict them to "approved" buyers.

I am convinced beyond any doubt this is just one more tool to be used to force the majority of the US population into cities so they can be forced by a combination of price and government to live in "Khrushchev Apartments",all of which will actually  be owned by the corporation they work for,or the union they belong to,and to whom they will pay the monthly rents.

Most will probably house two families and be two bedroom and one bath, with fold-out couches in the living room. These "Khrushchev apartments" will be located convenitaly close to where the workers are assigned to work that they can bicycle or walk to work. In some cases, they might take a bus or ride the subway. At any rate, privately owned cars won't be affordable or even desirable for the working classes.

This is the way they will get air pollution as well as the working class scum responsible for most of it"under control". Multiple families living in one small apartment with 1 bathroom will practically guarantee smaller familes, and for the couples that just won't listen to "reason",there will be forced abortions.

NONE of this,of course, will apply to the supervisor classes and above,of course. It will, however, serve as an incentive for the working classes to rat each other out for breaking the rules.

EVERYBODY will be "city folks" except for the laborers needed to work the farms, the timber industry, etc, etc, etc, and the state will provide them with any transportation they might need if they can supply proof they need it.

Their chief supervisors, will,of course, have private cars or trucks supplied to them by the authorities. The vehicles will of course be owned by the collective, and by extension, the state.
