Lawyer for mother of Hunter Biden's baby expects indictment

The lawyer for the mother of one of Hunter Biden's children predicted that the president's son will be indicted on charges related to his financial dealings.
Clint Lancaster, the attorney for Lunden Roberts of Arkansas, told CNBC that his client recently testified before a federal grand jury and said he provided to investigators “a significant amount of Hunter’s financial records” in compliance with a subpoena.
“I expect him to be indicted,” Lancaster said. “Just based on what I saw in his financial records, I would be surprised if he’s not indicted.” The lawyer also stressed that he and Roberts “don’t want Hunter to go to jail.”
Roberts had her now-3-year-old daughter with Biden out of wedlock. Biden claimed in his 2021 memoir that he didn't remember his "encounter" with "the woman from Arkansas," as he called Roberts, though she was also an employee of his investment firm.
A judge ruled in January 2020 that Biden was the father after a DNA paternity test and ruled that he had to pay child support despite Biden's protests that he had no money or income due to his 2017 divorce from his first wife.
Lancaster said the documents he gave to federal investigators were part of the case file from the Arkansas child support lawsuit filed in 2019 by Roberts. “They’re all in electronic form,” Lancaster said. “I would estimate it was anywhere from 10 gigs of data.”
Roberts and another of Biden's former girlfriends, 28-year-old Zoe Kestan, appeared before a federal grand jury in Wilmington, Delaware, last month to testify about Biden's finances.
