Ron Johnson to run for reelection: reports

Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson (R) is going to run for reelection, sources have confirmed with multiple outlets.
Two sources familiar with the decision told CBS News that the Republican would announce his reelection next week.
"I'm not ready to say anything," Johnson told CNN, though the outlet reported that one GOP source has confirmed that he will announce the decision next week.
"I do all kinds of events,” Johnson said when asked if the announcement would happen in the upcoming week.
Johnson previously pledged to serve only two terms, but has faced immense pressure to run for a third time.
Wisconsin Democrats and Republicans both want Johnson to run for reelection in the state, as Democrats see him as a vulnerable candidate and Republicans see him as their best shot to keep the Senate seat.
Johnson has staked his reputation as one of former President Trump’s biggest supporters in the Senate. He previously supported multiple audits of the 2020 election, but has since conceded that President Biden won.
