Pence says he 'parted amicably' with Trump
By Jordan Williams - 10/05/21 08:05 AM EDT

Former Vice President Mike Pence said late Monday that he “parted amicably” with former President Trump at the end of their terms in January.

During an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Pence was asked about his relationship with the former president amid their disagreements about certifying the 2020 election on Jan. 6.

“Look, you can’t spend almost five years in a political foxhole with somebody without developing a strong relationship,” Pence said.

Trump repeatedly pressured Pence to block the results of the 2020 election when Congress certified them on Jan. 6. During the count, a mob of Trump’s supporters breached the Capitol, leading to a delay of the certification.

Congress would ultimately certify President Biden’s Electoral College victory once the Capitol was secured.

Mebbee so, but it was anything other than "amicable" for me.

Pence is done politically, ethically, morally...retirement would be his "wise" option as he will never again be viable as a candidate.

Pence will go back for more of Trump's abuse ... He can't live without it.

I think Pence has realized there is no future in the new Cheney-W-Kinzinger wing of the GOP.  If he wants some media relevance (like his interview last night) he'd better not hop on that bandwagon.

Suggestion for Pence as he ages.
Reflect on the reality that politics is the obsession of unprincipled lowlifes
with the brains of a brick (apologies to all bricks).
Rather, move on as your years pass, embracing family and friends; while
seeking a rewarding purpose.

The one thing I did highly admire Pence for, was his insistence that no private meetings take place with women without an additonal party present.  He got slammed by the Feminazis for that, but tuff shit as far as I am concerned.

I don't think he gets that yet. Trump hopefully would not be foolish and ask Pence to be his VP again, but Pence may be foolish enough to challenge Trump.

In other news....

Mike Pence gets 1/6 amnesia

There's no other American who should remember January 6 more vividly than Mike Pence, the former vice president.
Pence was there. When insurrectionists marched from then-President Donald Trump's "Stop the Steal" rally up to Capitol Hill and overran the US Capitol building, some were chanting "Hang Mike Pence!"
Secret Service had to whisk the vice president out of the Senate chamber and hide him with his family.

Pence had stood up to Trump. He had agonized in the days leading up to the ceremonial counting of the Electoral College votes about whether he, as the one presiding over the ceremony, could overrule the Electoral College and hand his boss the win in spite of the voters.

We know this because, according to one new account, he asked the advice of former Vice President Dan Quayle, another Indianan.

But Pence stood up to the pressure and smoldering anger heaped on him by Trump for not buying into the rigged election lie.
As CNN's Chris Cillizza notes, however, that was then.

Now it's just "one day in January." This is perhaps not surprising, since Pence wants to be president some day. But it is certainly a bit jarring, since he was personally targeted by the rioters, to see him now claim that the threat of the insurrection is overblown....

Democrats have a long vicious vindictive memory when they go after those they don't like, like Trump and the American people.  Odd when it comes to crimes, even serious ones commited out in the open by Democrats, its like they have no memory at all.  They are still attacking Trump for what Biden does and jan 6th.  Do you suppose the fools want to impeach him again without any grounds or fallacious ones?

"This is perhaps not surprising, since Pence wants to be president some day."

Really?

Pence needs to brush up on socialism, Marxism, or perhaps Libertarian talk
points and philosophy.  He won't make the cut to be a Republican leader.

He made his choice.
