Representative Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that “clown politicians” claiming door-to-door vaccines were akin to Nazis is “absolute insanity.”

Anchor Jake Tapper said, “A number of your Republican colleagues are expressing outrage over President Biden’s call for door to door outreach to encourage Americans to get vaccinated. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene compared those going door-to-door to Nazi brown shirts. Congresswoman Lauren Boebert called them needle Nazis. Ted Cruz said it sounds like Soviet Russian. What’s your response to that?”

Kinzinger said, “It’s absolute insanity. What President Biden said, and maybe he could have said it slightly different, was, we’re willing to come to your house to give you the vaccine. At no point was anybody saying they’re going to break down your door and jam a vaccine in your arm despite your protest. This is outrage politics that is being played by my party, and it’s going to get Americans killed. We are on a — our party has been hijacked. My party has been hijacked. We can put out this outrageous stuff on Twitter. Yeah, I’m getting all these retweets, and everybody knows me. I’m famous, but this plane is going to crash into the crowned. If you’re a Republican vote doer not listen to Marjorie Taylor Greene. The vaccine is safe. COVID is real. Get vaccinated. Because if you are going to listen to the outrage, by the way, in March, she’s bragging about Donald Trump creating the vaccine, and now she’s saying basically the vaccine is going to kill you. I call on leader McCarthy. I call on every leader in the Republican Party to stand up, say get vaccinated, and to call out these garbage politicians. These absolute clown politicians playing on your vaccine fears for their own selfish gain.”

Stop the straw man bullshit. No one has compared door-to-door vaccinations to "Nazism". It's just not something we ought to do in America.

And stop lying about an "insurrection" that wasn't any such thing, as led by people who weren't armed.

We have a screened in porch before our front door and on the screened door we have had a sign on the door for quite sometime that has worked like a charm:

"ABSOLUTELY NO SOLICITORS. ALL SOLICITORS WILL BE CONSIDERED TRESPASSING!!!"

Secondly, you don't have to answer your door.  We have a Ring video doorbell.  Nope, not going to answer the door to a bunch of empty suits.

Also, Geronimo doesn't like strangers and lunges at the interior door (something we've never stopped him from doing).  He's about 70 lbs. now and looks like a Rotweiller.

I don't agree with the suggestion the government sends agents door to door but as of now, there isn't a comparison to Nazis or Pol Pot

There is a HUGE concern for me here in FL. Many don't realize that DeSantis gave the head of the Health Dept. the authority to vaccinate and quarantine anyone who they feel is a danger to the community.

While DeSantis is very popular, this for me has been a huge red flag .... I'm still not sold on the guy for this reason.

The authorizing law gives the state health officer the power to take whatever actions she or he deems necessary, including “ordering an individual to be examined, tested, vaccinated, treated, or quarantined for communicable diseases that ... present a severe danger to public health.”

Anyone who is unwilling to be vaccinated may be subject to quarantine, the law says. And if there is no practical way to quarantine that person, the State Health Officer “may use any means necessary to vaccinate or treat the individual.” That includes calling on law enforcement to help him carry out those duties.

Good point, libertybele. Is it really much of a stretch to think the door-to-door Covid "educators" would turn over to authorities the names of anyone who doesn't cooperate with them?

Some docs are now asking if I've had the vaccine and if I'm planning on getting.  So ... I would assume that is going into my medical records.  :shrug:
