Jane Fonda To Be Given Award At Golden Globes For Her ‘Unrelenting Activism’
Jane Fonda, an icon of the silver screen for six decades, will be given the Cecille B. deMille award for her contributions to the industry.

Hollywood actor Jane Fonda is set to be honored with the Golden Globes’ version of a lifetime achievement award this year. She’ll be given the Cecil B. deMille Award in part for her “unrelenting activism.â€
Fonda To Be Given Cecil B. deMille Award
The Cecil B. DeMille Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). It’s given to recipients to honor their “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment.â€
In announcing that Fonda, 83, was being given the award this year, however, HFPA President Ali Sar made a point of saying that one of the reasons that she was chosen for the honor this year was her “unrelenting activism.â€
“The Hollywood Foreign Press Association takes great pride in bestowing the 2021 Cecil B. DeMille Award to Jane Fonda,†Sar said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “For more than five decades, Jane’s breadth of work has been anchored in her unrelenting activism, using her platform to address some of the most important social issues of our time.â€
