The NFL is suffering mightily in 2020.

Several problems have cropped in a very taxing year.

And the NFL is in deep trouble after the public reaction to their anti-Trump protest.

NFL ratings are down across the board.

The league was hoping to garner enthusiasm considering Americans are starved for content in the middle of a pandemic where draconian lockdowns have kept them inside.

But that wasn’t really materialized.

I think the backlash against the SJW movement is a lot more significant than amost are realizing.

After a couple of years of toning down the political stuff I watched parts of a few games last year. Then came the 2020 round of politicization, so I haven't watched any football this year. My older daughter and I play board games from the Empire Builder series on Sunday afternoons.

I slacked off watching pro football in the last thirty years, but the wife suddenly got interested in the Packers (mostly Aaron Rodgers). So we've watched most of their games in the last five years.
We haven't watched one minute so far this year.
A friend of mine brought up the Packers the other day. He said he used to watch the game regularly with his son. But now his son won't watch them because of the leftist politics.
I informed him I pretty much felt the same.
But many people seem willing to look past getting kicked in the face and patronize these bast**ds. Not me nor the wife.

That feedback loop is a lot shorter than you might think.  When advertising contracts are signed, there is an assumption about ratings that are tracked constantly during the broadcasts.  If the ratings for a game don't measure up, the Nets have to refund the money within a few days. 

It's telling the Networks are willing to eat that refund week after week.
