New York Democratic boss warns AOC not to challenge Chuck Schumer
There has been speculation for months Ocasio-Cortez, 31, may try to unseat the U.S. Senate minority leader.

    Don’t do it AOC!

That’s the warning New York’s Democratic party boss has for the sophomore congresswoman, who is rumored to be mulling a primary challenge to US Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer.

"I think it would be a primary driven by ambition more than by need," Jay Jacobs told The Post.

"Chuck Schumer has been a progressive force in the state for decades," added the chairman of the state Democratic committee. "She has a constituency that admires her and supports her, and they’re in her community, and I think it would be a loss for them if she were to do that."

And he would beat her, he said.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would "absolutely" lose a challenge if she went head-to-head against the veteran Democratic lawmaker, said Jacobs — who noted he’s yet to meet the Queens rep.

"We’ve never met. I would look forward to doing that," he said. "I am open to that at any time."

Schumer the Smuck would get trounced by her if she challenges him.  If she goes full blown attack, she could kick him around very easily.  I say it is hers for the taking.  And I say she goes for it.

The Dems are gerrymandering her congressional district out of existence, so expect her to run.

It would be foolish if the "Democrat Bosses" in New York Gerrymandered her out of her seat.  She may then decide there's nothing to lose going after Schumer's seat.  I consider it more likely she would be the one to bump somebody else in her "new" District out of their Congressional seat.  After all, she bumped a Member of the Leadership to get the seat she now holds.

I reckon the occasional-communist has an even-money chance of beating Chuck the Schmuck in a primary contest.

And if she does, she'll win vs any Republican opponent.

And... if she becomes a Senator from New York in 2022, she'll be in a good position for the vice-presidential spot in 2024.

Upstate, Schumer hasn't really been as hated as, for example, Hillary Clinton. He does the political pandering like, well, a professional politician—he likes bringing home the pork. There's this veneer of "he may not agree with us but he doesn't antagonize us, either."

Whereas AOC's contempt for anyone to the right of Karl Marx is about as obvious as it gets. That won't fly even among the Democrats up here. The only way she wins up here is if she uses her cleavage—and that ain't happenin'.
