Cal Cunningham concedes Senate race to Sen. Tillis
« on: November 10, 2020, 09:27:02 pm »
RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Democratic US Senate candidate Cal Cunningham has conceded the race to incumbent Republican Sen. Thom Tillis.

Cunningham, whose campaign was plagued by a texting scandal and revelations that he had an extramarital relationship, issued the concession Tuesday in a phone call to Tillis on Tuesday.

"I just called Senator Tillis to congratulate him on winning re-election to a second term in the U.S. Senate and wished him and his family the best in their continued service in the months and years ahead," Cunningham said in a statement. The voters have spoken and I respect their decision. While the results of this election suggest there remain deep political divisions in our state and nation, the more complete story of our country lies in what unites us: our faith and sense of confidence in our democracy, our civic values and common humanity, our shared aspiration to care for one another, and our belief that we live in a country that does exceptional things."

Is our count now 49 in the Senate with Tillis?

Still outstanding:  Alaska (1); Georgia (2)???

Our count is now 50...which includes AK  and then 2 more with Ga if we win both...so a total of 52

Paging Senator Manchin, please pick up the white courtesy phone.  Your state voted 70% for POTUS; if you still have eyes on the Governor's mansion, it's time to switch parties.

IIRC, polls had Cunningham winning. Yet another polling screw-up? Or industry-wide partisan lie.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

Good to see Mr. Tillis win, but...

If a sleazebag like Cunningham could get this close to beating Tillis, how might a stronger candidate have done?

"Victories" like this do not portend a good future for Republicans in the state.
North Carolina seems destined to go the way of Virginia or Colorado before too many more years pass by.

@Right_in_Virginia

Have you lost your freaking mind????????

The LAST thing we need is a GD repeat of what happened with Newt and the Republicans took over control of Congress for the first time in 30 or 40 years, and like a bunch of numbnuts, let Dims switch to becoming "instant conservative Republicans",and even awarded them committee chairmanships for their "conversions".

One in position, they did everything they could do to destroy Republican control and values. Including getting Newt kicked out of office.

NO MORE "INSTANT" REPUBLICANS!

LOL!  I only propose this @sneakypete because Manchin, upon learning the state he wants to govern in a few years voted 70% for Trump, promised he would not vote for packing the court or ending the filibuster.  I'm just trying to push him to man-up.
