The vote tallies in my heavily Republican county showed the opposite in the Senate race.  Trump outperformed McSally by 2%.  She is not well-liked here because we think she hates us.
The wife and I have spent a month or more around Tucson for the last four Januarys. But we've never had the chance to talk to locals about politics. Not that we go out of our way to talk politics. Plus, there's little on the local news we've seen or read concerning McSally.
So what does McSally say or do that makes you believe she hates average Republicans?

I think she's fine with "average Republicans."  My county is the reddest, and most conservative in the State, and possibly the nation.  It's conservative Republicans she has trouble with, because we don't trust her RINO tendencies.

Also, even John McStain had visited Mohave county more frequently than her.  For all his faults, he did save our sport fishing tourism industry in BHC by stopping O'Bastard's Department of Interior from closing an extremely important fish hatchery.   And, true to form, she could not win if she couldn't carry Mohave.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Only in the handful of states known to be those Trump needed to win?
Downballot saw Republicans sweep the board here, with percentages of the vote from 65 to 68.94% statewide.

The vote for Trump/Pence was 65.11% of votes cast. I attribute this minor difference to the absence of third party candidates in the downballot races, which took 3% of the vote in the POTUS race.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I will not argue with anything you said @Cyber Liberty as you are much closer to that situation than I am but I do know that ALL of my wife's relatives in Eastern Arizona voted straight Republican this year for the first time ever and we are being told that Trump that state.  I'm not buying it.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

In my county, Trump outperformed McSally: Trump got 70% while she only got 68%.  That percentage delta carried through the rest of the state, which is why she's still toast even if Trump pulls off a win.

ETA:  She was a known poor candidate since before Ducey the Dunce appointed her to the Senate on the advice of Cindy McCain, and I was so pissed off about it because I knew he was handing this seat over to the Dems.  And here we are.
