Sen Susan Collins votes NO for Amy Comey Barrett.  She is no Republican!  Better to have a Democommie in her office than to have a rat.  At least we can run a real Republican in the next election.

Collins must go.

@jafo2010

It was suggested last evening on FOX, that she is in the "fight of her political life", and that since the GOP had the sufficient number of votes to confirm Justice Barrett, that McConnell made a deal with her and let her vote "no".

If Trump is re-elected he will get to make a fourth SCOTUS appointment.  Thomas will retire.

And in MY mind,probably the best part of this is that compared to the rest of them,she is practically a teenybopper. She is still going to be sitting there for years after I am dead and gone,making decisions that keep America,America.

Kinda get the "warm and fuzzies" just thinking about it.

Amazing how such a corrupt and selfish man (Trump) keeps making so many decisions and moves that will protect America and our way of life for decades into the future,ain't it?

Just imagine how effective he could be if he had been a life-long RINO insider professional politician dedicated to kissing ass and NEVER embarrassing his colleagues on the other side of the aisle, instead the rude,mannerless billionaire that he is! </S> (sarcasm,for those who are "reality-impaired")

Loving the HELL out of that one,as I consider the imploding vacuums of Dim heads all over the nation.

BTW,the photos and stories of the Pro-Trump marches and demonstrations in Beverly Hills have to be some of my all-time favorites.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing the political left get their noses rubbed in "it" in their own backyards.

Let's hope Thomas stays there a few more years,and it is one of the remaining leftists that retires so Trump can replace them with another GREAT Justice pick.

Schumer is trying to set the table for court packing but is instead making an ass out of himself.

The gop did a better job of messaging this time, but they could do even better if they’d hammer the ‘the rats want an unaccountable super-legislature to mandate their unpopular policies, we want a court that will preserve your constitutional liberties’. Something like that but in soundbite form.

I hope too that she enjoys a long and successful career at the SCOTUS.

However I don't trust the Dems and their militia to let that happen.

All that Trump has accomplished gets wiped out if the Democommies win in 2020.  It is literally a life and death situation for this nation.  Biden wins, it brings death to the nation, and if Trump wins, he continues to restore life to this nation, which was proactively destroyed by Obama/Biden for eight years.

That lying POS Obama is on speaking right now.  It is good I haven't eaten yet, for he could easily have me tossing my cookies.

DCPatriot, a question for you.  If you lived in Maine, would you vote for her if she did not vote for Amy Comey Barrett?  I sure as hell wouldn't.  The liberal/left votes she might pick up, she loses conservatives.  And frankly, I do not care for these type of weak politicians.  Just too many stinking RINOs in the Republican Party, and this weakens the party.

RINO's certainly weaken the party but unfortunately we don't have enough conservatives at present to do battle.  This has become an ongoing problem. That is why I was so elated that the entire Senate (except for Collins of course) stood   together and got Barrett confirmed.   Collins is done and she probably cost the GOP the Senate .... not a good thing.

@jafo2010 Good question.

If I lived in Maine, I would continue to vote for her, because with a 51 total vote, the issue passes...whatever it is.

Why would I give the current insane Democrat Party a  leg up....unless it was my leg and I was pissing on them.

Has she ever voted with the Democrats on important matters?  I'm not up on the specifics of her voting record.

On my walk I was thinking today that the nomination of Barrett by Mr. Trump, and the drama and excitement that was capped by her swearing in last night, provide a fitting climax for Mr. Trump's first term. And it proves why he has earned the right to serve another.

For all those who believed that he would never advance traditional-minded principles, for those who proclaimed he would never keep his promises, this refutes such arguments totally.

To the never-trumpers (some of whom inhabit this forum), this serves to repudiate them and reveal them for the "traitors to the cause" whom they are.

OK, then.
Onward to November 3rd and a second term...!

(And also, accolades are due to both Lindsey Graham, who guided the nomination through the committee hearings smoothly, and of course to Mitch McConnell, who delivered the votes in the Senate with a sure hand.)

I agree. Which is why I voted at the courthouse the second day they were open and accepting ballots. I figured they would be too busy the first day,and my bad leg keeps me from standing for long or walking far.

Took roughly 20 minutes from walking in the door,voting,and walking back out to my truck/

Now I can sleep peacefully knowing that if I die in my sleep,my vote will still be counted.

@bigheadfred

I don't think Trump is going to lose,even with all the Dim ballot box stuffing.

If he loses,look for a LOT of people to die,and most of them will be Dims.

Dims are only good and brave fighters when they are the only ones fighting,and they outnumber any white male opponent by at least 5 to 1.

Even then they wouldn't start anything unless they can sneak up behing you and sucker punch you in the back of the head so they can ratpack you.

My policy is the same as always. When I see them coming,I back up against the nearest wall and ask them to get together and decide who gets to die first,and to then "bring it,punks".

Somehow the 3 or 4 times I have done that,it seemed to make them hear their mamas calling them home for dinner.

Smart move on their part. Anybody that doesn't think I will kill them if they seriously threaten me is a soon to be dead fool.

Polls were open for one and a half weeks, and I drove by at least once a day with the line 40-50 folks long outside, not counting the folks inside.  I just could not stand it any longer.  So, I stopped mid week last week, stood in line 45 minutes to vote.  I felt much better afterwards.  My wife was mad at me that I went and did it without her.  LOL

There were 20 folks on the ballot going after Kellie Loeffler's Senate seat.  I was surprised to see that!  The winner has to get over 50%, or the top two vote getters have a runoff in a special election.

I still believe Trump will carry the dead head Republicans across the finish line.  And once he is installed for the 2nd term, I hope he cleans house, purging 50% of folks in the FBI, DOJ, and about 30 other agencies.  And I think he should freeze hiring, and red shirt all positions.  No position is replaced.  Bush and Obama fattened up government to the point we could go five years without hiring anyone.

And get us the hell out of Afghanistan.  I understand being involved in Iraq still, but end the Afghan debacle.

And if it hasn't occurred to him, he needs to restructure, CDC, NIH, and half a dozen other agencies whose bureaucracy is many times what it needs to be.  I think the time has come to restrict projects to those that are deemed necessary, and for those that fit in the nice to have but not necessary, jettison them, and the resources doing them, via red shirting.  Four years of frozen hiring will save billions.

And stay the hell away from healthcare until 1.5 years into the 2nd term.  Get some thing done without getting bogged down with that nemesis.

I'm pretty certain that President Trump will go much further than that in his second term WRT the size of government.  I predict that he will move to shutter entire agencies if he can (depending on the makeup of congress of course) finally fulfilling promises made by others in the past.

The Loeffler race is essentially a GOP primary race between her and Collins.  The higher vote-getter will face (and easily defeat) the Dem in the runoff next month.

The race that upsets me is my 6th District Congressional race.  I dislike both candidates, one of whom lives in Tennessee while the other is both arrogant and lazy.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-
