Donald Trump Approval Slips Five Points in Rasmussen Poll
« on: June 09, 2020, 04:52:49 pm »
Charlie Spiering 9 Jun 2020

President Donald Trump’s approval numbers slipped Tuesday in a Rasmussen Poll, a survey that traditionally gives him his highest ratings.

Only 44 percent now approve of President Trump’s job performance and 55 percent disapprove, according to the numbers released by Rasmussen.

That marks a five-point drop in approval in a month after the president reached a 49 percent rating in early May amid the worsening coronavirus pandemic. Trump previously reached a high of 52 percent approval in February.

In 2017, Trump described Rasmussen as “one of the most accurate in the 2016 Election.”

Trump’s slip in the Rasmussen poll matches a new Hill-HarrisX poll showing former Vice President Joe Biden now leading Trump by 10 percentage points in a 2020 general election matchup.

Biden’s support has jumped five points to 47 percent in May while Trump’s support has fallen four points.

Rasmussen and Hill-HarrisX polls typically give Trump his most favorable numbers, while polls conducted by Fox News and CNN typically produce polls showing the president losing by a wider margin.

I want Trump to win.

From day to day, I think he will, then think he won't.

Considering the opposition he has overcome since he announced, don't count him out.

Voters still want the police, still want law & order, still have a silent majority, may still lie to pollsters, who they conflate with the fake-media-complex.

THis is why you don't hang on any one poll. They're all inaccurate to various degrees. Polling averages are much more accurate (although they aren't good for Trump either).

Well Ras has been pretty accurate...and all the recent polls are showing the same trend. I am hoping that when he starts campaigning his polls will improve.

Well, everyone is p*ssed to some degree or other, its not a happy point in time. So its not really a surprise Trump's approvals are down.

But I don't buy the Biden figures at all. Doesn't pass the giggle test.

The RNC has all the material they need to put out devastating ads against Biden and the Democrats,  the question is,  will they use it?

I would have to think most Trump voters are like me,  I don't answer the phone if I don't know the number, and I will lie to any pollster.

My guess is Trump will instinctively want to use it. The only certainty is he'll be advised against it by the usual party eunuchs.

Take a good look around at the electorate, then think about that.
The giggles may die down...

I was alittle down last night, so I went back to see what Hillary's poll numbers were like this time in 2016... they were almost identical. As I suspect, nothing has really changed since 2016... which is good news for Trump. Maybe.
