Virus Lockdowns, Reopenings: Here’s the Situation With All 50 States
Epoch Times, Apr 25, 2020

Governors across the nation ordered lockdowns in March to try to curb the spread of the CCP virus. Some are extending the orders, others are planning when and how to reopen, and some are already reopening.

Here’s the situation with each state. This post will be updated. Last updated on April 25.

Alabama
Gov. Kay Ivey, a Republican, said on April 21 that her stay-at-home order would remain in place until April 30 despite neighboring states starting to reopen.

“No one wants to open up businesses more than I do,” she said. “We had a 2.7 percent percent unemployment rate in February, and I’m eager to get back to that.”

Just looking at the Huntington Beach, CA beach cams and there are people on the beach, in the water and on the pier having a good time in this mid 80's weather and no one seems to be hassled or arrested. I think everyone is saying screw Newsom!

Arizona

Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican, issued a stay-at-home order in late March. The order is currently in place until April 30.

Restrictions could continue past that date, Ducey said at a press conference on April 21. He said his decision will depend on data regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier that week, Ducey announced elective surgeries can restart on May 1.

Ducey dithers, Arizona suffers.  Good work, Doug!  So glad I helped you get elected!  You can thank your God you are a term-limited piece of shit.

Professor: 'No empirical evidence' shows government lockdowns stymied coronavirus
by Andrew Mark Miller

A professor said there is “no empirical evidence” to indicate government-imposed lockdowns have been successful in combating the spread of the coronavirus.

Wilfred Reilly, who is a professor at Kentucky State University, posted a piece last week on the Spiked website that examined the effectiveness of various strategies federal and state governments have implemented to contain the outbreak.

The author of Hate Crime Hoax: How the Left is Selling a Fake Race War and Taboo: 10 Facts You Can’t Talk About acknowledged that only a "small pool" of people have received testing for the coronavirus, which gets to the heart of the empirical evidence issue. Nearly 5 million people have been tested in the United States, according to the Johns Hopkins University tracker, which would be about 1.5% of the U.S. population.  ...

Wilfred acknowledged that no single analysis is truly conclusive. He encouraged others to “re-run” his model, which he acknowledged was "limited to five independent variables due to the small number of state-level observations available," to come to their own conclusions. "The more data, the better," he wrote.

The professor is joined by other skeptics of lockdown measures, which are meant to curb the spread of the coronavirus, who raise concerns about infringement on civil liberties and the economic toll they bring. An article last week from the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank, made the case that lockdowns "don't work."  ...

Look for that ninny to try to get out in front of the beach goers and pretend he gave them permission to leave their homes, as soon as it’s clear they couldn’t care less about having his blessing.

In fact there are a number of would-be despots in the country who are about to learn there are real limits to their authority.
