Bernie Sanders: "I Don't Mind People... Calling Me a Communist,"
Wed Feb 5, 2020 Daniel Greenfield

Of course not, Comrade. It's a badge of pride for the Motherland of Socialism.

In 1972, Sanders, then a gubernatorial protest candidate for the socialist Liberty Union Party, visited an alternative high school in Rutland, Vermont, to give his campaign pitch. During a question-and-answer session, Sanders, then 31, brushed off accusations of being a left-wing radical.

"I don't mind people coming up and calling me a communist," Sanders said. "At least, they're still alive."

Until I come to power? I'm not sure what that ominous ending is supposed to mean.

Should Bernie get the nomination, much of this stuff is going to come out and haunt him.  OK, one can say people believing in something when they’re young changes as they get older and get life experience. But the problem with Bernie Sanders is he still believes in all the same garbage as he did in his youth. Americans just will not tolerate radical revolutionaries. That doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t support some reforms in healthcare,  education, etc. etc. But Bernie Sanders wants to turn everything upside down and put the state in charge and that just is not going to fly with the majority of voters. And probably the same can be said for a good number of Democrats.

The power wielders in the Democratic Party know all this about Bernie Sanders which is why they’re trying to deny him the nomination much to the chagrin of their  radicalized left wing base.  The infighting in the Democratic Party has only just begun with the more pragmatic wing dueling it out with the radicalized left-wing base

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

One thing about Bernie, he's not afraid to be who he is.  He's proclaimed to be a socialist for a very long time and it's not surprising that he doesn't mind the Communist title.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.
