Lieberman warns Dems criticizing Soleimani strike: Votes won't back anyone 'who they don't think is willing to use American force'
By Yael Halon | Fox News

Former Sen. Joe Lieberman cautioned Democrats vying for the White House in 2020 against criticizing the airstrike ordered by President Trump that killed Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani in Iraq last week.

"My final warning to my fellow Democrats: be careful what you do -- either out of a general feeling of opposition to President Trump or partisanship, thinking about the Democratic primary," Lieberman said Monday on "Your World."

"In the end, the American people are not going to vote for anyone for president who they don't think is willing to use American force to protect our security," he added.

  • Dems-greatest existential threat to USA republic!
Obama and his henchmen launched the coup against Trump in 2016, and it continues unabated to this date.  DOJ and courts have done NOTHING to date.  So, the traitorous Dems will continue this nonsense for five more years.

Our government must indict, convict, and I recommend publicly dispatch all involved in this dastardly effort.  ALL.  I have said it before, failure to take extreme action on this will result in it happening again and again.  There goes the republic.  Iran need not destroy anything here, for we are self destructing from enemies within.

And Lieberman is 100% right, something a Dem is never!

The bottom line is that Trump did what Obama should have done in Benghazi.  There were plenty of warning signs in the summer of 2012 in Benghazi -- including the attempted murder of the British ambassador -- that something bad was going to happen.  But rather than take aggressive action to forestall it, or even just to beef up security, we did the opposite so as to keep a small footprint and not antagonize those who already wanted to kill our people.  We all know how that turned out.

Regardless of whether or not we plan on staying in that region, taking out Soleimani was the right thing to do.

I agree.  And I would say we should have our forces on a war footing.  Any effort by Iran to approach our Navy should be met with brutal force, sink them.  No more nonsense of capturing US ships.  Same true for our jets, shoot them out of the sky.

Finally, with troops in over 140 countries, we just do not need to continue Bush's nation building in Iraq.  Iraq has been a pawn of Iran since Obama was POTUS and allowed Iran in to fight ISIS.  Even Obama is on the side of Iran versus the USA with his past comments.

I suggest we withdraw from Iraq, taking every last nut and bolt.  Let the peaceful muslims return to killing each other without our involvement.

If Israel wants to strike Iran, I fully support an unlimited strike to push Iran back 30 years.

I think the motivation of O'Bastard and company leading up to 9/11/12 was not about antagonizing the locals, it was about pretending everything's OK leading up to an election 2 months later.

Right -- I think those two things were linked.  All they wanted to do was to keep things as quiet as possible so there were no adverse headlines that could blow his re-election.

They were trying to avoid a Desert One debacle that helped further sink Carter. But the attack did happen and their instinct was to blame a You Tube video
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

While history has its patterns, they are rarely linear and as such, usually unpredictible.
Trump's behavior till now wouldn't have predicted his Iran performance, yet here we are.
Did the Ghost of Julius Caesar wisper in his ear?:
"Remember, it is infinetely more important the leader be feared, rather than loved!"
Or perhaps the vision of Sun Tzu appeared to him one night intoning:
"Know your enemy, then yourself and you will succeed in every battle!"
In any event this is a watershed event for Trump as he has cornered Iran as the
outcast/pariah society they have been for centuries.
Further he has isolated his frenzied opposition as the anti-american cabal they
compulsively are. So much so, that several of their hard leftist supporters are
flashing red warning lights and yelling at their leadership:
" SHUT THE HELL UP AS YOU'RE ATTACKING PLAIN PEOPLE NOT JUST TRUMP !!! "
Interesting times indeed.

If you went to bed early Tuesday, you were surprised to wake up Wednesday and learn that World War III has been delayed.  No doubt you were also shocked that oil prices were tumbling and the stock market was soaring. Once again, the Chicken Little chorus got everything all wrong. The sky isn’t falling and Donald Trump is still president.

How can it be?

True.  Lieberman has a reputation for being a hawk and pro-America.  His statement supports that reputation.

There were people on the ground lasing mortar emplacements in Behghazi, ready and marking targets for the airstrike that never came. One drone, one missile, and the show would have had a different ending. No need to have a major desert cluster**ck, it could have been handled from afar with no risk to additional personnel.

It takes more than ability, the will to do something must be present, and apparently the Obama Administration had no desire to do anything that might interfere with destabilizing the region.

I saw Lieberman's piece in the WSJ earlier this week and wondered just how many Dems would even bother to read it.   It seems they've all drank the Kool-ade.

I would wager many have the proverbial gun to their head, being threatened with withheld reelection support form the DNC if they don't get in line and sing the Party song. Vote this way, give this speech, or become a nonperson. It's the way Communists roll.

I'm fascinated by Warren's statements.   Her initial reaction was that a deadly murderer had been silenced,  but a day later pivoted to the party line that we had assassinated a mere high-ranking Iranian military official.   Now she's apparently being linked to a pro-Iranian lobbying organization.
