Why The Trump Decision To Delay Aid To Ukraine Is Under Scrutiny

December 6, 20197:42 PM ET

Why the Trump administration delayed nearly $400 millions of dollars in security aid to Ukraine is the question at the heart of the impeachment inquiry into President Trump.

Democrats say the president tried to coerce an ally to help him take down a political opponent. Republicans argue it's a routine use of presidential power.

Interviews with current and former officials show how the Trump administration's hold-up of aid to Ukraine was irregular and likely violated U.S. law, and has far-reaching consequences at home and overseas.

Tim Rieser, who has decades of experience with foreign aid, had a front row seat to the process that unfolded this summer. He is a staff director of the Senate subcommittee that handles funding for State Department programs. He also serves as senior foreign policy adviser to Democratic Sen. Pat Leahy of Vermont...………

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

It is impossible to coerce anyone when they has no knowledge that something is being withheld.  And for the record, Hunter Biden isn't a political opponent.

Not to mention that Ukraine never did what Trump suggested.  But then why let facts get in the way of a good political smear campaign.

This would be the same Pat Leahy who was kicked off the Intelligence committee for leaking classified information through that committee.

Endlessly repeating the same lie doesn't make it true.  Typical NPR malarkey.

I wouldn't have posted it if I believed it is a lie.  I don't believe it is a lie, but just like it questions in the bottom of the article is it impeachable.  I don't know.  It sure isn't the nothing burger that Trump is trying to project.  Realist.

Assigning motivation to people you don't know is more like it.  This is what you are doing here.

@Chosen Daughter

Again, how could Trump have been coercing the Ukrainians if they had no knowledge that anything was being withheld?  And let's take it a step further.  Let's assume they did know they were being coerced. if they knew they were being coerced, then why did they not rehire the prosecutor?

Contrast this with Biden.  Biden tells them he is withholding $1 billion unless they fire the prosecutor.  They fire the prosecutor.  Biden gives them the money.  This the very thing that Trump is being falsely accused of doing.

Trump:

- Doesn't tell them that money is being withheld
- Makes zero demands of Ukraine
- Releases the money after seeing Zelenskyy isn't corrupt like the last guy
- Ukraine does nothing

If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.
