Texas couple buys car for Denny's waitress in Galveston

There was a story about a year ago more or less, where I can't remember the exact details, but this man's co-workers bought him a car to drive to work in, the man or boy always had to walk to work. People might remember that and I think that was basically in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Metroplex....so, this story has echoes of it.

Adrianna Edwards, who walks 7 miles to work at a Denny's restaurant in Galveston, was surprised by a couple who bought her a 2011 Nissan Sentra, KTRK reported.

"I still feel like I'm dreaming. Every two hours, I come look out my window and see if there's still a car there," Edwards told the television station.

A lot of walking, one of the articles said that it added up that she was walking five hours a day... my gosh, that's too much.  Story is getting a lot of coverage.

She did a half marathon and change every day, with a work shift in the middle. More than a car, that's a gift of 4+ hours a day.

She probably walked this in humidity too. She must have had a change of clothes.

The Dallas-Fort Worth story was plausible, the one I mentioned in post # 1.

I assume this one is totally true too.

@TomSea she’s a better person than I am. And I’m really happy for her. No way could I walk that much in that heat without collapsing.

I do have a very good car. A Subaru Impreza. I’m really happy with it.
