On September 9, Libya’s internationally recognised Government of National Accord (GNA) carried out a series of targeted air strikes on forces aligned with Khalifa Haftar’s Libyan National Army (LNA).

The casualties recorded from these strikes revealed that Mr Haftar has been looking far further East than Tobruk in his search for military support. Amongst the recorded dead were 8 Russian fighters linked to Wagner PMC, an infamous Russian private military contractor which has allegedly sent hundreds to fight in Libya.

The involvement of Wagner in Libya speaks to the grim realities of the country’s ongoing crisis, which has resulted in tens of thousands of casualties, precipitated mass forced displacement of populations and left Africa’s once wealthiest state economically ruined.

I don't think there is any good reason for this war and thank goodness, we are not involved in any meaningful way.  I don't know why Russia is helping this guy unless it's about natural resources wealth.  I don't see the ruling government as some sort of danger.
