John Kasich Surprises CNN's Alisyn Camerota by Pouring Cold Water on Impeachment
By P.J. Gladnick | September 29, 2019 6:10 AM EDT

John Kasich has a reputation for being vehemently opposed to President Donald Trump. In fact, when the Republicans nominated Trump in Cleveland in 2016, the governor of Ohio at the time, Kasich, couldn't even be bothered to show up at the venue. Therefore it would be not be unusual if CNN's New Day host Alyisyn Camerota expected to hear a sympathetic reaction to the impeachment  of Trump from Kasich on Friday. However, imagine her surprise when Kasich poured cold water on the subject of impeachment.

Camerota provided some pushback but the real entertainment value of the segment is watching the look of sadness on her face while realizing that anti-Trump Kasich was not on board for impeachment.

I never thought that I would say this, but I completely agree with Kasich.  In listening to various different liberals in the MSM I would also venture to state that very few understand the impeachment process.

Great answer by John. Very reasonable and thoughtful.

He's saying exactly what I've been saying on here, coincidentally.
If a well-regulated militia be the most natural defense of a free country, it ought certainly to be under the regulation and at the disposal of that body which is constituted the guardian of the national security.

Sure he is proclaiming his dislike for the president because of his 'behavior' and 'character' but what he also pointed out is he so far has done nothing that is impeachable.  That is the true message and the message that shocked Alisyn.

It's not a matter of being reasonable or thoughtful, it's a matter of did the president or did he not commit an impeachable offense.

  • Dems-greatest existential threat to USA republic!
I despise the postman's son.  Nothing this man says is worth listening to, because his mindset is extreme bias toward the president that rode over him like the road.  Kasich is another politician suffering from delusions of grandeur.  He is the AOC of the Republican Party from my perspective.

He will run again in 2024, and he will not get my vote then either.  People like him, Romney, Lee and others destroy the Republican Party, not strengthen it!

I agree with what he was saying 100%. Even when he said they have to keep investigating to see what turns up.

That video, I believe, is from before those text messages became public

Kasich is just trying to have it both ways - there's nothing about his comments to admire.

The reality is that it's nothing more than another thinly disguised fishing expedition, hoping that maybe this time they'll stumble across something that will stick.
